Beautiful balance

Here's a lovely second hand find that I purchased a while ago. As you can see, it's a plain wooden frame/board. It only cost me 5 SEK (0,5 Euro). There's so much potential!

My plan was to upcycle this second hand find, by putting a  fabric flower in the vase-like object in the middle. I also wanted to paint the frame. Eventually I just painted everything white with acrylic paint (Traditional craft paint), because I thought it looked  refreshing and very neat that way. I painted a pink fabric flower purple. Finally I stuck the flower in the vase. Here's the result. -> Yay.

I think it goes well together with the colours in my apartment, as you can see here.

Ps. I have submitted this upcycled project to the following challenges:
All Crafts Challenge: June/July
Crafty Girls Challenges: Anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks: Anything goes

A bright day

Here's a birthday card. I made most of the card digitally so that I could duplicate it. I wanted to have lots of birthday cards in store in case I forget someone's birthday. This image by Chi Chi memories is an awesome birthday image. I made one version where she has green hair instead of the yellow/golden that you can see here. I love that she looks so happy.

I painted most parts with ProMarkers and Stickles. The papers can be found here, here , here, here and here.

I have used this layout that you can find on the CCM challenge. I have also joined their latest challenge.
Other challenges that I have joined are the following:
Crafty Creations: Party
Fan-Tastic Tuesday: Anything goes
Paper Pretties: Red, green, yellow and blue
The Sisterhood of crafters: Happy birthday to you and me

So, my lovelies, here's my creation for the challenge.

Since our gender-neutral marriage law now turns 5 years in May, I would like to dedicate this post to the celebration of love and pride. I didn't want to make a traditional kind of bride for that. Instead I was inspired by the movie Avatar. Hehe.

Humankind is evolving, and that's worth celebrating.

Ps. Hooray for Conchita winning the whole Eurovision.

Piece of carrot

Here's a card just for the fun of it. The carrot girl comes from the East Wind. You can find her here.
I wrote the sentiment "Go veggie" with the cookie monster font.

Here's the background that I created. First I drew 3-4 carrots by hand. Then I cut them out and glued them to a green paper. Finally I scanned it all and reduplicated it digitally. That's how I got this pattern.

Make bloom for beauty

A while ago I found a white frame at the Red Cross second hand store, and figured it would work fine for a painting of some sort. I also found some floral candle cuffs in another second hand store.

Then I created something out of my second hand findings...

I made the background out of cardboard that I still had left from my moving boxes. (I moved here some weeks ago.) I painted the cardboard with white and silver acrylic paint. To finish it up, I painted a layer with some metallic sand saint in white/silver.

Here you can see the painting in my living room. :) I think it matches the other colours well.

-----------------------------------------------
Here's my card for the challenge. I have used the monthly Aurora freebie. Sign up for the news-letter at the East Wind and get your freebie too.

I have made the background out of some newspaper sheets (and not ordinary paper) which I have painted with purple, silver, golden and white acrylic paint. I have done so before (here for example) and I like the result. The difference between painting on ordinary paper sheet and newspaper sheets is mostly the power of absorption. I also think you can get some really interesting and unique patterns by painting on cut-outs of newspaper/magazines, for example like the bigger circle to the right. Here's another example.

The crumbled golden circle comes from the sealing of a wine bottle. Hehe.

The yellow and floral border comes from this 24 sheets multipurpose vintage paper deco stickers set.
